Rooster® Partners with UK J/70 Class for 2024

Rooster® Partners with UK J/70 Class for 2024

We are thrilled to announce our partnership with the UK J/70 Class, marking a significant milestone in the realm of competitive sailing. This partnership evolved following our sponsorship of the J/70 Euros in 2023, during which both the class and ourselves recognised their mutual commitment to combining competitive racing with the enjoyment of sailing.

A video produced capturing the essence of the class can be found below:

The partnership with the UK J/70 Class is a natural extension of our ethos, aligning seamlessly with our values of innovation and camaraderie within the sailing community. With a shared commitment to promoting the sport and enhancing the experience for sailors of all levels, we are excited to embark on this journey with the UK J/70 Class.

As part of this collaboration, we will extend our support to the Grand Slam Series, injecting newfound energy and resources to elevate the series. Moreover, we are on the lookout for a boat to sponsor for the Corinthian European Championships in Denmark this year, further cementing its dedication to nurturing emerging talent within the community.

The commencement of our support for the grand slam series was the awarding of prizes at the second event held on the weekend of April 20th and 21st at the Royal Thames Yacht Club.  Event winners Jelvis, skippered by Martin Dent, and first Corinthian, Jonathan Calascione’s Calypso, will each receive a voucher for Rooster kit.

Speaking about the partnership, Luke Morrison, CEO of Rooster®, expressed, "We are delighted to deepen our relationship with the UK J/70 Class and continue our journey of promoting the essence of competitive sailing. Our shared values of excellence, sportsmanship, and the joy of being out on the water unite us in this exciting venture. We are very much looking forward to a thrilling season ahead”

For the UK J/70 Class, this collaboration represents a pivotal step towards enriching the sailing experience for participants and spectators alike. Ian Poynton, Class Captain of the J/70 class remarked “We are delighted to be partnering with Rooster as they move from providing great kit for dinghies to supporting the ever more exciting world of sports-boats, and none more exciting than the J/70.  We are looking forward to a productive partnership with Rooster in the years to come.”
